Dear Friends,
Introducing Caveo Partners
Around 30 years ago I met my good friend Chris Klimatsakis, Director of Operations at Caveo. Around 20 years later Chris introduced me to his trusted friend and business partner Stefan Lipkiewicz, Managing Director of Caveo.
The two were on a journey, along with a number of other like-minded professionals, to build a client-centred financial services business (with accounting, legal, advisory and digital advice streams) driven by values and integrity. For some considerable time, I have watched them closely and observed a strong alignment – which is why Marinis Financial Group is now part of the Caveo Partners.
I’ve asked Chris and Stefan to pen a few words of welcome:
Hello, Marinis clients, friends and family – and a very warm welcome.
A year or so ago we started a conversation with Theo which has led him this month to joining our business – Caveo Partners – and we could not be happier. Theo’s ‘Distinctly Different’ model has resonated with us, and ours with him – bringing with it a foundation for mutual respect and trust.
We don’t want to change Marinis Financial Group. We wish to learn from this model and help it to grow. We are also pleased to be able to provide a backstop of support for Marinis Financial Group clients which is bigger than just the individuals involved.
At social events over the last year we have met many of Theo’s clients. What is clear is that you are very like our clients at Caveo Partners – hard-working people who have taken on the responsibility for their own financial future, and who want a guide to ensure you maximise your outcomes by getting investment, tax, Centrelink, insurance, legislation and regulations untangled – all within one organisation.
It is wonderful for us to have Marinis Financial Group housed within our Halifax Street premises.
If you would like to know more, please look us up at www.caveopartners.com.au and feel free to call either of us on (08) 8201 8333. As usual, Theo will also be available to you by calling (08) 8130 5130.
Best wishes,
Chris Klimatsakis and Stefan Lipkiewicz
The Orchestra
Clients often wonder why I recommend a range of assets for them to invest in – and why not put everything in gold or lithium? These sectors have been booming…
In discussions with my highly valued clients, many of you sophisticated people with high profile backgrounds, I’ve used the analogy of an investment portfolio having similar characteristics to an orchestra. Sometimes one section is very loud… and then its impact dwindles away. Like a great concert, we don’t know what will be next. Sometimes one investment sector booms and another busts. Our role is to protect clients against the irrational exuberance of investing – and to help to ensure long term financial security. I have always loved the line originally attributed to journalist Edna Carew, ‘Get rich slowly – and stay rich.’
In the current global environment, we will continue to see all sorts of gyrations. The orchestra will play on – and our conservative approach will ensure that you enjoy the entire concert.
Thank you Alison Newberry
After years of enthusiastic and loyal service to Marinis Financial Group, our much-loved receptionist Alison has decided to retire. To say we wish Alison all the best is an understatement. I am sure you will all join me in wishing her every joy as she continues to support her highly successful family. (We will have you back in a heartbeat, Alison, if you change your mind!)
Welcome
And a very warm welcome to Carolyn Everett and to Kaleb Cross, our two new Customer Service Officers (CSOs).
Cyber security
A simple message: Don’t let anyone ‘rush’ you.
Cyber criminals prey on confusion and mistakes. There are two main areas of approach at the moment, the unsolicited phone call and the hyperlink: be cautious of both.
Never invest via social media, even if a very credible person appears to be standing behind a product… it is most likely to be a scam.
If someone from ‘The Bank’ or ‘The Telephone Company’ calls you, ask them for their name and department without sharing any of your information. Then call back using a number on a previous statement – not the first one you find on the internet… and certainly not on one they provide. The bigger the rush they are claiming, the more likely it is a scam.
Please keep an eye on www.cyber.gov.au/protect-yourself.
As always, if I or any of our team can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by either calling (08) 8130 5130 or email admin@marinisgroup.com.au.
Yours sincerely
